St. Joseph's National School, Halverstown

Fáilte go dtí Scoil Naomh Iósaf, Baile Ailbhir

We are a small primary school with 49 pupils in the parish of Kilcullen, Co Kildare.   The school consists of three mainstream classes and two Autism classes. The principal is Áine Cullen. The school can be contacted at 045 485374, or by email at halverstownschool@gmail.com. Please also view our Facebook/Instagram page "St. Joseph's National School, Halverstown" as it gives you a great sense of what life is like in our school. Have a look at all of the other sections of our website to see what we are about and the types of things that we do here in St. Joseph's National School. We may be a small school but we are a very busy and active school with a very strong focus on teaching and learning. There is a happy atmosphere here in St. Joseph's N.S, Halverstown and we are extremely fortunate to have the support of a very involved parent body, Parent Association and Board of Management. Our school motto is 'One Small School, One Big Family'. This reflects our family atmosphere and ethos of the school. Everyone is looked after and cared for by our staff with great kindness and sensitivity. We are very proud of the fact that any visitor who comes in can sense the positive atmosphere of the school straightaway.

We are a feeder school for Cross and Passion College, Kilcullen and St. Kevin's Community College, Dunlavin.

If you are interested in enrolling your child in the school please feel free to contact the principal to arrange an appointment. Come and talk to him about your child/children and to see the school itself in advance of making an application for enrollment. He would be more than happy to facilitate you in this regard.

Our school is lucky enough to have top of the range facilities. We have five very spacious classrooms as well as two more support rooms. Every room is kitted out with interactive whiteboards and a view of the open countryside. There is a sensory garden, football pitch and a winter yard for the children to play in also. We even have an outdoor classroom with a whiteboard for fine weather days. The murals and fairy doors add a splash of colour to the already picturesque surroundings.
